Numinus Wellness is hosting a series of immersive events – Music as Medicine – to highlight the role that music can play in healing.

The immersive, ceremonial meditation experiences will explore the role music plays in psychedelic-assisted therapy and mental health.

The series will feature live performances from musicians Jon Hopkins, East Forest, Superposition as well as others. Each event will feature intentional music and consciousness-expanding visuals that explore the importance that music and art play in the psychedelic therapy landscape.

Co-founder of Numinus, Payton Nyquvest, commented: “Music, community and connection have always played an important role in sacred ceremonies and is an integral component of psychedelic-assisted therapy and integration.

“Through the Music as Medicine series, we are celebrating an emerging genre of meditative music, and exploring the role that music can play as part of the healing process, while building connection across a community.”

Musician Jon Hopkins, who has created the album ‘Music for Psychedelic Therapy’, stated: “Psychedelic therapies are moving into legality across the world, and yet it feels like no one is talking about the music that accompanies them.

“In indigenous psychedelic ceremonies the music is as important as the medicine, and has been for thousands of years. Music is how you navigate the space.”

The first event is on 21 May, 2022 at Lighthouse Immersive Artspace in Los Angeles, and will feature four hours of live music, visuals and 3D sound by the line-up of artists in the emerging genre of “Psychedelic Meditation”.
