The Psychedelic Coalition for Health has launched to educate healthcare professionals in psychedelic-assisted therapy and integration in a bid to meet the growing need for trained clinicians.

The Psychedelic Coalition for Health (PCH), a company focused on psychedelic-assisted therapy and integration training for healthcare professionals, has launched to develop and educate stewards of psychedelic medicine.

As part of the launch, the Coalition will be hosting the Virtual Psychedelic Medicine Symposium which will feature pioneers and experts including the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies founder Rick Doblin, mycologist Paul Stamets, trauma expert Gabor Maté, best-selling author Tim Ferriss and California State Senator and Senate Bill 519 author Scott Weiner.

Training healthcare professionals

Co-founders and psychotherapists Lauren Taus, psychotherapist with a specialty in psychedelic-assisted therapies, and Nicholas Brüss, integrative psychotherapist and clinical researcher specialising in psychedelic-assisted psychotherapies, launched the Coalition after perceiving an imbalance in the number of people looking for psychedelic therapies compared to the small number of therapists adequately trained to give them.

Taus commented: “We are in a mental health crisis of unprecedented proportions, and people need and deserve support that works. We created the Psychedelic Coalition for Health to help fill the void of reliable and responsible education and tools that healthcare professionals need to work with psychedelics for their patients and potentially themselves.”

“The most challenging part of my job is seeing the healing power of psychedelic medicines first-hand and knowing they are not widely available, yet,” added Brüss. “By training healthcare professionals, PCH is helping increase access to psychedelic-assisted therapies while creating a solid foundation on what responsible use can look like in a mental health setting.”
