Jon-Paul Marshall
Counselling PsychologistBiographical Info
I typically work with people struggling with anxiety, depression, anger, shame, guilt, self-criticism, addiction, dissociation, self-destructive tendencies, mistrust, commitment fears, and, ordinarily, much more besides. Such struggles often stem from multiple and complex life events and circumstances, including past and present abusive and neglectful relationships, abandonment, bereavement, bullying, trauma, racism, sexism, gender expectations, parenthood, study/work/financial pressures, and more existential challenges such as finding meaning and purpose in life.
I offer a warm, nurturing space in which, collaboratively, we can explore and make sense of difficulties you are facing. My training in Counselling Psychology means I am skilled in working integratively, that is using several therapeutic approaches including systemic, internal family systems (IFS), psychodynamic, and existential models, and able to tailor my work to meet your specific situation. Primarily, my style is relational and contextual.
As part of my affiliation with the Institute of Psychedelic Therapy (https://instituteofpsychedelictherapy.org/psychedelic-integration-database/), I also offer integration support for psychedelic experiences.
I am presently seeing clients in person as well as holding online sessions. I also have a limited number of slots available for outdoor walking therapy. Please contact me if you would like more information, preferably by email as I am mostly unavailable by phone.
I offer free initial (scheduled) phone consultations of up to 20 minutes.
